Previously KNOT JUST PICS. Same shit, different name.

If I am honest, I have put off blogging Jenna and Jeff’s wedding, as I had no idea how my few words and our pictures could ever do justice to their wedding extravaganza. So watch me try (and no doubt fail) to sum up one of the most incredible wedding experiences we have been witness to in a long time…

The wedding, pre-wedding Cave party and all festivities took place at Prynnsberg Estate, one of the most bizarre and endearing old worlde estates – in the middle of nowheresville, the Free State. When you meet Jenna and Jeff, and get the feel for the incredible hosts they are and that putting on anything less than an epic experiences for all the people they love to celebrate them finally getting around to saying “I do” just wouldn’t be them at all. Hair and MU was done by our faves Laura and Wadene from Nixon Make Up. Jenna wore her gran’s dress for their ceremony which was an amazingly sentimental touch – she also wanted to recreate a pic of her gran cutting her wedding cake – with a sword – which shows just how epic multiple generations of this family are.

Their ceremony was at the on sight chapel, and after a lot of bubbles and sword-cut cake, everyone meandered back to a slow, multi-course family style meal under the trees by the Manor House. For days the forecast had predicted torrential downpours for the whole day, but somehow – it held. After sneaking them off for a few pics (and an unfit change into some Elven Queen vibes) it was time for wedding celebration part 2 – a jazzy cocktail party under a canopy of fairylights. It was at this point that we began to hear the threatening rumble of the long awaited storm, which finally hit, HARD and suddenly towards midnight. Rain does something electric to the energy of a wedding, and watching everyone grab all the DJ and band gear and head to the house for party round 3 was incredible – were we the normal “knock off at 9pm” photographers, we would have missed it all! Watching everyone soaked to the bone, carry on the party inside the crumbling mansion – everyone sprawled across the rooms and just having the best time was awesome!

Jenna and Jeff, your wedding was so perfectly the two of you! You pulled off the most incredible multi-day celebration of your bold, and adventurous love and it really was so awesome for us to get the chance to hang out with you and share it with all of the fascinating people you call your friends and family. If your future is half as epic as your wedfest, its going to be a damn good one!

  • Music is one of the most important things in both our lives. It’s has shaped us and supported us. This means whenever we get a chance, we go and watch bands live, as getting to see the songs that means so much to you played by the people who made them is just next level awesome. Last night we watched Biffy Clyro again, this band is particularly meaningful to us as a couple as our first dance at our wedding was to one of their songs 💜 Here’s both of us wearing Simon Neil masks leant to us by two lovely Glaswegian ladies we met at the show last night.
  • Getting ready. Letting it flow as it does without stage direction from us is so important. This way you have the moments you’re meant to with the people you love, without an outside coming in and taking over. At our wedding, I got ready with my favorite humans, and would have hated all of those beautiful, natural moments to be swept up and choreographed by a photographer - real moments matter 🙌🏽
  • New week vibe.
  • Kelly in the South of France.
Prepping to blog this gem of a wedding! Cannot wait to share their wedding which took place in a medieval village overlooking the French countryside.
  • Guests make a wedding.
  • It was so special to witness Lashara getting ready for her wedding with her dad. Watching him button up her dress and help her with her shoes. Such a special and private time - and I was lucky enough to be there for it 💜
  • All I know is I get sympathy excitement butterflies looking at Rich’s face here! You can almost feel his nervous excitement!
  • A lifetime reflected in a moment.
  • The only time it’s acceptable to throw plants at people.
  • This look. Marriage goals is to have your person look at you like this for the rest of your lives.
  • Some cool caption about golden light, harsh Karoo terrain, and the insane wind that these two babes just embraced.
  • All them squishy love feelings 💜

  • This weekend exceeded all expectations! 🙌 Sooo many good bands, the friendliest people, and delicious veggie food. The mud and rain even made it a proper English festival experience 🌧 This was our first @downloadfest and we WILL be back! Thank you @the_szerd for enjoying the same noisy music as me and always being my band buddy 😘
  • This summer in Europe has been epic for bands so far! Another one from our “must-see” band list. Alice in Chains 🔥 Definite highlights were this song, Them Bones, and Nutshell, which Jerry Cantrell dedicated to Layne Stayley. Totes emosch 😥 @aliceinchains
  • I played bass for a long time and this man was my bass crush 😍 #justinchancellor was worth every second of the 20 year wait to watch this man play 🙌 ... and I got his plectrum ! That’s getting framed.
  • Tool 🙌 I waited 20 years to see this band and it finally happened last night in Berlin, of all places. They were a massive influence on my own band and were actually one of the reasons @the_szerd and I started dating over 15 years ago. I even played in a Tool tribute band back in the day. Excellent times!
  • People watching from the shade.
  • Exploring the narrow streets and alleyways of Stone Town, Zanzibar. This place reminds us so much of the old part of Jeddah with the African/Arab cross culture and architecture.
  • It may be “sun’s out, guns out”, but it’s “balls out” at sunset when the heat finally let’s up.
  • Excellent vibe on what’s left of the beach at high tide.
  • Ocean and people watching from a shadey spot. The guy on the right, dressed in tradition Masai garb, is David. We had along chat about tattoos before he sold me a bracelet.
  • Dear god it’s hot. But also quite nice.
  • Hello Zanzibar 🤗 Can’t wait to get in that water!
  • We’re a hazard when we’re walking the streets cus we’re always looking up and bumping into people. Obsessed with the beautiful Dutch architecture!
