Previously KNOT JUST PICS. Same shit, different name.

If I am honest, I have put off blogging Jenna and Jeff’s wedding, as I had no idea how my few words and our pictures could ever do justice to their wedding extravaganza. So watch me try (and no doubt fail) to sum up one of the most incredible wedding experiences we have been witness to in a long time…

The wedding, pre-wedding Cave party and all festivities took place at Prynnsberg Estate, one of the most bizarre and endearing old worlde estates – in the middle of nowheresville, the Free State. When you meet Jenna and Jeff, and get the feel for the incredible hosts they are and that putting on anything less than an epic experiences for all the people they love to celebrate them finally getting around to saying “I do” just wouldn’t be them at all. Hair and MU was done by our faves Laura and Wadene from Nixon Make Up. Jenna wore her gran’s dress for their ceremony which was an amazingly sentimental touch – she also wanted to recreate a pic of her gran cutting her wedding cake – with a sword – which shows just how epic multiple generations of this family are.

Their ceremony was at the on sight chapel, and after a lot of bubbles and sword-cut cake, everyone meandered back to a slow, multi-course family style meal under the trees by the Manor House. For days the forecast had predicted torrential downpours for the whole day, but somehow – it held. After sneaking them off for a few pics (and an unfit change into some Elven Queen vibes) it was time for wedding celebration part 2 – a jazzy cocktail party under a canopy of fairylights. It was at this point that we began to hear the threatening rumble of the long awaited storm, which finally hit, HARD and suddenly towards midnight. Rain does something electric to the energy of a wedding, and watching everyone grab all the DJ and band gear and head to the house for party round 3 was incredible – were we the normal “knock off at 9pm” photographers, we would have missed it all! Watching everyone soaked to the bone, carry on the party inside the crumbling mansion – everyone sprawled across the rooms and just having the best time was awesome!

Jenna and Jeff, your wedding was so perfectly the two of you! You pulled off the most incredible multi-day celebration of your bold, and adventurous love and it really was so awesome for us to get the chance to hang out with you and share it with all of the fascinating people you call your friends and family. If your future is half as epic as your wedfest, its going to be a damn good one!

  • 1 room, 2 angles to use the most ethereal side light. Also Rosemary you are breathtaking.
  • Just some bright and rich colours. It’s so crazy but colour makes me so happy! The more deep and vibrant the better ☺️ I always try and edit as true to colour as possible for this very reason, and of course it’s way more timeless.
  • Honestly one of my favorite photos of all time and one of the most special and intimate weddings we have had the honour of shooting. This gem of a day is up on @lovemydress at the moment which is a most wonderful distraction from the craziness of corona admin, trying to help out our couples effected by all of this and trying to keep myself (relatively) sane.
  • Anyone else feel like they are living in the first chapter of some crazy dystopian novel? What an insane time to be alive! Here are two hot as babes to help take your mind of the news we’re being bombarded with ☺️
  • Sam and Paul. Marry someone that makes you laugh in even the most serious situations ☺️
  • Anyone else woke up to a crazy world? We kind of feel like we are reading the opening pages of a dystopian novel! So here to try and balance all this crazy shit out, are two insanely happy just married babes!
  • Cuz right now we all need more smiles ☺️
  • Wedding guesting. The side of your wedding you’re least likely to see. Luckily we’re there to show you what you missed ☺️
  • Carey and Rich and some pretty epic mountains in the reflection.
  • I am absolutely in love with the sequence of moments between Claudia and her dad, and their excitement about seeing each other, and then going off to get her married 😍
  • Letting your hair down and having a little boogie with your besties. Definitely a contender for one of our favourite parts of the wedding day!
  • Mondays are always a good day to post a little silhouette shot with a sky worthy of having a motivational quote written on it ☺️

  • I’ve played guitar and bass for a while and always wanted to try sitar. Had my first lesson today in Varanasi. What an amazing instrument! So different to guitar. I was very shit and my fingers feel like they’ve been manicured with a sword, but I love this thing.
  • Following @the_szerd around temples since 2010.

Our first big overseas adventure was to Nepal, where we got engaged. The travel bug bit hard and it’s been love and magical unicorn farts ever since. Here’s to a trillion more adventures with this person ❤️
  • There’s something beautiful and timeless about a shawl or saree. The Indian woman are such a vibrant contrast to the dusty streets.
  • Up to our eyebrows with hot chai (tea) and hotter curry. #wishyouwerehere #notreally
  • Unbelievable detail carved into these old stone mansions (called “Havelis”) from the 1800s. The one took 55 years to finish! It may take us that long to finish painting our kitchen...
  • Epic views over the small desert city of Jaisalmer in North West India, not far from the Pakistan border.
First time in this beautiful country. Managed to step in cow shit within the first 2 minutes and dog shit within the first 10. Welcome to India!
  • This weekend exceeded all expectations! 🙌 Sooo many good bands, the friendliest people, and delicious veggie food. The mud and rain even made it a proper English festival experience 🌧 This was our first @downloadfest and we WILL be back! Thank you @the_szerd for enjoying the same noisy music as me and always being my band buddy 😘
  • This summer in Europe has been epic for bands so far! Another one from our “must-see” band list. Alice in Chains 🔥 Definite highlights were this song, Them Bones, and Nutshell, which Jerry Cantrell dedicated to Layne Stayley. Totes emosch 😥 @aliceinchains
  • I played bass for a long time and this man was my bass crush 😍 #justinchancellor was worth every second of the 20 year wait to watch this man play 🙌 ... and I got his plectrum ! That’s getting framed.
  • Tool 🙌 I waited 20 years to see this band and it finally happened last night in Berlin, of all places. They were a massive influence on my own band and were actually one of the reasons @the_szerd and I started dating over 15 years ago. I even played in a Tool tribute band back in the day. Excellent times!
  • People watching from the shade.
  • Exploring the narrow streets and alleyways of Stone Town, Zanzibar. This place reminds us so much of the old part of Jeddah with the African/Arab cross culture and architecture.
