Sophie and Joe got married at the gorgeous Norwich Castle, Norwich. It was their legal wedding ceremony, with their big wedding taking place the following weekend. We absolutely love how many couples are planning big weddings. Often officiated by a friend or someone close to them. Then opt for a small legal ceremony before the big day. We just love to be able to be a part of both days!
The ceremony took place in a beautiful room in the museum. It was a simple but emotional legal ceremony. It was a delightfully intimate occasion with just their closest family in attendance.
After the ceremony, we did some pictures on the way to a local pub. Their casual drinks reception was held at The Garnet. This is in the heart of Norwich market which was really lovely, and despite it being quite rainy, there was such a fun energy to our time together.
Sophie and Joe were an absolute joy to shoot. Despite claims they don’t have many pictures together, their ease with each other in front of the camera, and their beautifully playful energy made our time together so much fun. The beauty of a small legal wedding pre big wedding, is having the chance to have an intimate celebration with the people you’re closest to. As almost a warm up to your “real” wedding. This sort of wedding combo is just the best in our opinion – and not in anyway biased by the fact that this is what we did at our own wedding. After a couple hours with these babes and their families, I left them in peace to carry on celebrating and preparing for their big day.
