Melissa contacted me about shooting her and Paul’s mid-week elopement/mini-wedding and we were over the moon with excitement! They had decided against a big wedding and wanted instead to get married somewhere beautiful and intimate. They chose the stunning Qambathi Mountain Lodge in the Kamberg and shared the day only with their parents, siblings, us and a harpist. Everything about the day was relaxed and calm, even when a good old berg storm derailed their plans to get married outdoors. As if they couldn’t be any cooler, Melissa, as a designer made her own ridiculously amazing dress (a couple of days before the wedding even!). We have such a soft spot for couples that start their married adventure their own way and on their own terms, and it was truly such a delight and so incredibly special to share this beautifully intimate day with two brilliant people.
