Lily and Joe threw one of the most gorgeous celebrations we’ve ever had the joy to photograph. It was a colourful DIY wedding at their centuries-old home and garden, and was just overflowing with love, personality, and a good dose of puppy cuteness.
Their ceremony took place in their own garden. Beneath a tree adorned with bunting and colourful flowers, looking out over the rolling countryside. Guests were seated on hay bales while Lily and Joe stood on a Persian carpet. The wonderful The Pop Up Celebrant led a truly beautiful and unique ceremony. Packed with personal rituals and stories about Lily and Joe. The couple opted for a ring warming, and even planted a new tree in their garden to mark the moment. I love that in years to come they are going to be able to watch their tree grow alongside the years of their marriage! And we can’t forget the very best girl, Lulu the dog, looking ridiculously cute and stealing the show as the ring bearer. If you’re thinking of including your dog in your wedding – this is your sign to absolutely do it!
After the ceremony, everyone moved into a marquee set up in the back garden, and it was nothing short of magical. Think vibrant blooms, handmade touches like crochet by Lily, and a whole lot of colour. This was the ultimate colourful DIY wedding. Everything reflected Lily and Joe’s personalities, from their sneaky pineapples, to the incredible flower arrangements. Their whole wedding was an explosion of gorgeous, vibrant colour!
Every detail felt intentional and filled with love and loads of DIY planning. Their tables were named after favourite albums, and their guests were treated to pizza, BBQ and tiramisu. This wasn’t just a party – it was a celebration of everything that makes these two so freaking awesome.
It was a stinking hot day, like, proper sweaty summer feel. These two babes share something so special, and that warmth (both literal and emotional) radiated through the whole day. We couldn’t stop smiling, and neither could their guests. They partied the night away under the setting sun surrounded by all their fave people, and I honestly couldn’t think of a better way for them to see off their wedding!
Everything was done with love, from start to finish, and it was an absolute joy to witness. Lily and Joe, you babes and your angel dog Lulu stole our hearts. Thanks for letting us into your gorgeous world for a day.
