In November last year I woke up to a wedding enquiry which included the words, Freedom Cafe, brunch wedding, Star Wars and Nev the Barber. Needless to say, we were sold from that moment on! When we met with Jay and Mike and heard about their travelling adventures and heard more of the details of their wedding day, we almost couldn’t contain our excitement to share their wedding day with them! We met them bright and early Sunday morning for a quick trim and neaten at Nev’s then headed back with them to their place where Jay got ready and Mike headed to his friend Janine’s place (across the road). When we arrived at the park next door to Freedom Cafe (before the boys arrived in their Fiat 500s) we were met with love, laughter, music and mimosas. Their entire celebration reflected their beautiful love for each other and the wonderful support of their community. With the help of their friends their reception area was decorated with Star Wars origami, and the little Storm Trooper boutineers finished off the Star Wars theme amazingly! As Mike is an architect, the strong colour and lines of the Freedom Cafe was the perfect aesthetic to complete their wedding vision. Despite the birds that live in the trees above Freedom Cafe repeatedly sending down their “blessings” onto the guests, their brunch reception was a relaxed affair filled with lots of laughs and love. Thank you so much for choosing us guys, we felt truly honoured to witness your marriage! Reunion looked amazing and we know your lives are going to be filled with so much love and even more adventure x
Middle finger to the birds who kept “blessing” the reception with their droppings…
And more bird blessings.
