Agi & Simon’s Wedding at the Town Hall Hotel | Andy & Szerdi Photography
A small, meaningful East London wedding in a place that holds a lot of history for them.
This wedding felt immediately familiar to us, not just because it took place at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, but because so much of Agi and Simon’s story is rooted right here in East London. As locals to the area, there is nothing we love more than a wedding in the area we live in and love.
When they first got in touch, they told us how they’ve lived all over the area over the years, and its where they still live now. Getting married at the Town Hall Hotel felt like a natural choice rather than a statement. It’s a place that already means something to them, in an area with lots of significance to them.
Agi and Simon planned a wedding at the Town Hall Hotel with a small guest list of around 40 people. Friends and family travelled to be there, including Agi’s family coming over from Hungary, and the focus was very much on spending proper time together rather than filling the day with too much structure.
The Town Hall Hotel works beautifully for weddings like this. It’s calm, well-run, and flexible, with spaces that feel intimate without feeling tight. It’s ideal if you want things to flow naturally while still having everything taken care of.
We’ve photographed weddings here a number of times now, including this previous Town Hall Hotel wedding, and it’s always a pleasure to return.
One of the things we loved most about this day was how local everything felt. No long journeys, no rushing around London, just moving through places that already form part of their lives.
Agi and Simon also mentioned something that mattered a lot to them: they had their first kiss just outside Bethnal Green station, near Paradise Gardens, and wanted to return there for photos if possible. Those personal landmarks often mean more than any traditionally iconic location, and they always add another layer to the story.
Alongside that, we explored a few nearby streets and spaces, keeping portraits relaxed and unforced, very much in keeping with how they wanted the day documented.
From the start, Agi and Simon were clear that they wanted natural photographs that captured the day as it unfolded, while still leaving them looking like themselves.
That balance is something we care about a lot. Making space for the people who matter, keeping things easy, and letting moments happen without over-directing them.
